Georges Seurat -Pointillism
On December 2, 1859 in Paris France a baby named Georges Seurat was born!
After training at École des Beaux-Arts, he wanted to take his artwork/techniques a step further. He painted with tiny strokes of different colours that seemed to blend in smoothly when it is viewed from a far away distance. Georges had a father named Antoine-Chrysostome Seurat, however Georges, his brother Emile, and sister Marie-Berthe were essentially raised by their mother Ernestine (Faivre) Seurat in the outstanding place called Paris <- One of his artworks with pointillism Wistfully Mr. Seurat's career was cut short on December 2nd, 1859 when he died of illness, it was either pneumonia or meningitis..... |
Here is a fantastic piece that Georges Seurat made with pointillism (Its basically dots)
"A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte"
This took Seurat over 2 years to make and is created with millions and millions of dots
